On Friday, July 9th, I took the twins to see the lions at UNA. I have a friend who works at the university. Unfortunatly it was raining when we arrived. So she took us into the back area of the habitat. We were up close and personal with the lions. We were told when we got inside that Leo might try to scare us. He likes to do this as a joke to people. I was taking a picture of him and he lunged toward me. I almost fell backwards. I know that he is in a cage, but that doesn't change my fear of him eating me. It is a really nice place they have set up for the lions. Leo and Una are brother and sister. They have been at the university since they were six weeks old. They seem to be very content with their home. I really appreciate Missy doing this for the twins. They have been watching Disney's The Lion King. So they loved this trip to see the lions.

Storytime Picnic

On Wednesday, July 7th, storytime was at the picnic area in Elkmont Rural Village. Miss Pat had it decorated for Independence Day.

One Year Ago

It has been one year since my grandmother passed away. Someone sent a Peace Lily to her funeral. I have never been able to keep flowers or plants of any kind alive. I decided to take the plant home with me, because my mom said she didn't want it. I have been taking care of it for a year now. I repotted it into a white pot. I can't believe that it is still alive. The twins have been very excited because it has 4 buds that have begun to open up. Here is a picture of our plant, Needer.
