This month's church gathering was at Leanne's house. We all got together for finger foods and an ornament swap. I had a great time with wonderful friends. Here is everyone with their ornaments.

On Saturday, November 28th, we left to go to Colorado. I have never been before. We were very excited about this trip. My mom had been trying for over a year to use her timeshare week to get into this particular condo. They called us two weeks before we left and told us they finally had an opening. If we wanted it, we had to let them know immediately. We wished we had more time since it was so close to Thanksgiving, but we told them to definitely expect us. It was easier traveling this time with the twins. I did not have to carry diapers, formula, etc. We carried their carseats on the plane, and they slept the whole time we were in the air. We rented a minivan when we got there and headed to our condo.
It was so beautiful. The mountains in Gatlinburg, Tennessee did not even compare in my opinion. These mountains were very huge and topped with snow. The place where we stayed was in a gated resort area. They had someone checking at all times when you were coming into the resort. Our condo was right at the slopes. We could look out of our balcony and see two huge, lighted christmas trees. We also could see a ice skating rink. It was one of the nicest places I have ever seen or stayed in. I guess that is why it took us over a year to get in. They had shops of all kinds, a general store and numerous restaurants all within walking distance. They even had heated sidewalks to keep the snow melted.
We did drive to a couple of places that were close to the town where we were staying. Vail was only a 10 minute drive. There was a World Cup skiing competition that started while we were there. There were people from all over the world there to compete. It was kind of neat being there for the opening festivities. It was really cold that night though. It was -10*. I have NEVER been so cold in my life. We went on a sleigh ride one night. That was a first for all of us. We really enjoyed it. Poor Dylan slept through the whole ride. He woke up as we were getting off to go inside to get warm by the fire.
They didn't have as much snow as they usually have but I was just glad they had some. It was actually good that we left when we did. The very next week they had so much snow that they were canceling flights. It was a very enjoyable trip and I hope to be able to go back again someday.
